Saying goodbye to Daniel Loper and daughter April Loper

Daniel Loper and Sherrie Loper

April Sherrie Loper, 34, of Toledo, Oregon died as the result of injuries she sustained in a car accident on October 25, 2012 near Eddyville, Oregon.

April was born in Portland, Oregon on May 29, 1978 to Daniel L. and Linda G. (Bidwell) Loper. She attended school in Toledo, Oregon.

April was a deeply spiritual woman who enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved music and went to many concerts and festivals. She learned to play guitar and sing. She traveled and liked to camp and fish. Nature was her friend and she found beauty in every flower she saw. She attended church throughout her life, most recently South Beach Community Church.

April was a collector. She turned her antiquing hobby into a business with her mother and opened “The Treasure Hunt” in South Beach. Her outgoing nature and her ability to make others laugh made her a friend to all.

April’s biggest dream in life was to be a mother. Her dream finally came true two months ago when she gave birth to her son, Halo Moon Issac (biblical – one who laughs) Lewis (from his grandfather & great-grandfather) Loper.

April in preceded in death by her grandparents R.B. & Lillian Bidwell, her first love Billy Davis,
her cousin Codey Devila, and her father Daniel Loper and her long-time canine companion Honey Bear.

She is survived by her infant son, her mother Linda Loper, her brother Christopher (Jade) Loper, her sister Danielle Loper, her aunts, Kathy Wagner, Lisa Loper, Charlene Walton, Brenda Martin, and Glinda Barnum, her niece Kayia, her nephew Coren, her long time friend Don Mullican and her dog Oddie.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 1, at the Four Square Church in Toledo (1803 Lincoln Way). A potluck will follow. Contributions can be made to US Bank (Newport) in the name of Linda Loper.

Daniel Lewis Loper, 57, of Toledo, Oregon died as the result of injuries he sustained in a car accident on October 25, 2012 near Eddyville, Oregon.

Daniel was born in San Bernardino, California to Arvel Lewis and Donna Rae (Allen) Loper on June 25, 1955. The family moved to Waldport, Oregon where Danny attended school.

He graduated in 1973 from Chaffey High School in Ontario, California. Danny loved competing in hydroplane boat racing as a teen-ager. He built the racing boats with his father that they used in competition.

In 1976, Dan married Linda Gail Bidwell in Toledo, Oregon. They were loving parents to April, Christopher and Danielle. Dan was a very loving and attentive husband and father. Being a devoted family man meant everything to him.
He worked for the Wilson Brothers installing drywall for several years. Most recently, Dan drove taxi for Yaquina Cab Company. He loved the comradery he had with his co-workers and customers and he was proud to provide blue ribbon service to all customers.

Danny enjoyed vacations in Las Vegas and watching NASCAR races. He liked playing pool, hunting, fishing and camping. He immersed himself in activities with family and friends. He looked forward to retirement so he could spend more time with Linda and have fun with his family and many valued friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents Arvel and Donna Loper, his stepfather Dean Webber, and his daughter April Loper.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda, his son Christopher (Jade) Loper and daughter Danielle Loper, his sisters Charlene Walton, Kathy Wagner and Lisa Loper, his grandchildren Kayia, Coren and Halo, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
