Driver catches car burglar in the act – burglar runs – Lincoln City cops track him down

Hector Ramirez-Chacon, 24

An in-progress car break in was reported outside the Gallucci’s Pizza Restaurant Wednesday evening. The owner of the victim vehicle interrupted the thief as he was damaging the dashboard in trying to remove the car stereo. When confronted, the thief displayed an un-identified object and told the victim he was armed with a gun. The victim called 9-1-1.

Lincoln City Police responded but the suspect fled after hearing the approaching sirens. After giving officers a description of the thief police conducted a detailed search of the surrounding neighborhood with the assistance of sheriff’s deputies.

About forty-five minutes later a sheriff’s deputy spotted a male matching the thief’s description sitting in a car in the 1800 block of NW 28th Street. The person was later positively identified as the thief.

24-year-old, Hector Uriel Ramirez-Chacon, was taken into custody and lodged in the Lincoln County Jail on charges of Robbery 3rd Degree, Menacing, Unlawful Entry into Motor Vehicle, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree, and Theft 2nd Degree. Ramirez-Chacon also had three warrants previously issued for his arrest by Marion County.

Ramirez-Chacon’s girlfriend, 20-year-old, Solinna Monique Butler, was also contacted and taken into custody on an unrelated misdemeanor warrant issued by Marion County.

Anyone with any information, or additional knowledge is urged to call the Lincoln City Police, Officer Shawn Carter, at 541 994-3636.
