Newport Police have arrested Steven Holland of Newport for an overnight break-in at Rite-Aid in the Safeway shopping center. Police arrived to find that someone had broken into the building and forced their way into the pharmacy where a quantity of narcotics were stolen.
Police say their investigation quickly led to suspect it was the work of Holland who is well known to local authorities. When the evidence was presented to a county grand jury an arrest warrant was issued for Holland. When apprehended, police say Holland was found to be in possession of narcotics believed stolen from Rite Aid.
Holland was booked into the Lincoln County Jail on charges of burglary, criminal mischief, theft and possession of controlled substances. Holland’s bail was set at $165,000.
