Toledo resident Joel Swenson, arrested this week on an array of charges relating to domestic violence.
Toledo Police say the incidents involved Swenson assaulting his girlfriend in September, which landed him in jail for felony assault. He was later released from jail with an order to stay away from her. Then, in early October he allegedly re-confronted his girlfriend at her relatives’ home. He then left. A short while later a report came in that he had assaulted the mother of his children at their home.
These actions prompted a manhunt which led police to a house in Siletz on Takelma Court. Police surrounded the home and proceeded to attempt to arrest Swenson. Police say he tried to escape through a backroom window, but upon seeing the officers outside, he got back in the house where police quickly took him into custody.
Swenson was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was booked for domestic violence assault, recklessly endangering another, menacing, harrassment and for contempt of court. He’s being held on $25,000 bail.
