5:15pm Monday radar
The weather office is warning Central Coast residents that we can expect more strong winds and heavy rain this afternoon through tonight. The storm offshore has sucked up a great deal of tropical moisture to the south and appears capable of delivering up to 2.5 inches of additional rain by Tuesday morning.
Winds are expected to be 35 mph around town, and up to 55 mph in the higher elevations and along headlands and beaches.
Local rivers and streams are capable of rising very quickly along with ponding water on regional and local highways. Watch for wind-blown debris from tree branches and entire trees across roadways felled by high winds. Localized power outages are certainly possible.
It was a great Summer, while it lasted.
