Please join us for a special month of events designed to celebrate survivors, support youth, raise awareness and engage Lincoln County.
“In Purple Shoes” – Domestic Violence Silent Shoe Project
Throughout Lincoln County 10 pairs of purple high heel shoes will be placed in public spaces with quotes and facts to raise awareness. We encourage those who find the purple shoes to take pictures on their smart phones & share their photo on My Sisters’ Place Facebook wall. At the end of October two facebookers who posted “In Purple Shoes” photos will win prizes! This is an initiative in which anyone can participate!

DVAM Proclamation- Domestic Violence Awareness Month Proclamation presented to My Sisters’ Place and Siletz Tribal Violence Against Women Act Program. Presentation includes an address by Nelly Wright, Lincoln County Deputy District Attorney.

Clothesline Project- Siletz Tribal Violence Against Women Act Program- All are welcome to come and create a T-shirt for the Clothesline Project display in Siletz. The Clothesline Project is an international campaign against domestic violence that provides a way for raise awareness about domestic violence displaying art in public places. Siletz Community Center

Hotline w/ Kiera Morgan – Tune in to learn about My Sisters’ Place, the services we offer to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and dating violence. Tune in on 1310 KNPT, 1400 KBCH, 820 KWDP AM.
Friday October 19th gathering at 4:45-5:15pm
Candlelight Vigil – Community members please join My Sisters’ Place on October 19th for the Candlelight Vigil mourning those who have died because of domestic violence, celebrating those who have survived and raising community awareness of domestic violence. Remember to wear purple! HWY 101 & HWY 20 (JC Thriftway)

Dine for Domestic Violence Awareness: BBQ benefiting My Sisters’ Place. There will be raffle prizes, free hot dogs and menu samples for all. Featuring a Halloween Costume Contest!
