It’s about to get a lot easier to see when it’s time to go, as well as time to stop. The traffic light at Business 20 and A Streets is about to get an overhaul. ODOT is replacing the standard (some say ancient) incandescent lights with low power consuming LED lights. They’re cheaper to run and are much, much brighter. And the nice thing about it is…ODOT’s footing the bill!
The big change-over will begin at 7am, Saturday, September 15th. And it’ll take much of the day.
And because of that, there will be some modest inconvenience for motorists traveling through Business 20 at A Street. Since the lights will be swapped out, traffic flaggers will have to keep the busy intersection reasonably safe throughout the process. Flaggers will be directing traffic and police will be monitoring the situation to ensure everybody cooperates.
