A Lincoln City/Depoe Bay convicted burglar has been sentenced to just over three years in state prison for a series of burglaries in Lincoln City and Little Whale Cove, both very upscale neighborhoods. A video surveillance camera at one of the homes made it easy for police to identify him when they spotted him walking on the street carrying a backpack identified as being stolen from one of the break-ins.
After admitting to the heists, the judge gave Smith three years prison in connection with one burglary and then three years two months for the second. Both were to be served concurrently so it really means three years two months actual times behind bars. He also be under one and a half years of supervised probation when he’s eventually paroled.
