Three teens in a small Toyota Sunday night left Yaquina Bay Road at milepost three, hit some large boulders and a tree and yet somehow their car didn’t roll over. All three teens emerged from their front-end destroyed vehicle unharmed, thanks to seat belts.
Sheriff’s deputies said it appears that speed had something to do with the accident, causing the vehicle to leave the road, smash through some large boulders, rip the undercarriage, then into a tree. The vehicle bounced off the tree, landing partially back onto the roadway.
Deputies say they were reviewing their citation options.
