Two people have been arrested, with possibly other suspects still outstanding, in connection with a home burglary in Siletz last month. Sheriff Deputies say the home was pilfered for over $10,000 in property, including a number of firearms.
Lincoln County deputies and Toledo Police collaborated and together recovered some of the victim’s stolen property. In so doing they arrested Kayla Whyte, 22 of Toledo, for holding stolen property for the actual burglars. She was booked into the Lincoln County Jail with a bail set at $50,000.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Deputies working closely with Newport Police followed leads as to who the burglars were. They tracked down their first suspect, Lee Webber, 26 of Toledo, at Newport’s Eureka Cemetery where he was taken into custody. He was later booked into the county jail on charges of Burglary, Aggravated Theft, and straight Theft. Webber’s bail was set at $300,000.
Authorities say the investigation is not done. They are seeking further help from the public in tracking down others connected to the break in at the home in Siletz. Anyone with information related to the case are asked to call 541-265-4277, ext. 7116.
