Lincoln City Youth Soccer League sign-up deadline is Saturday, July 28! And oh! They need referees! (paid!!)
Children 4-13 years old can get their kicks learning and honing their soccer skills by joining the Lincoln City Youth Soccer League sponsored by Lincoln City Parks and Recreation.
Age divisions will be 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 and 10-13 year olds. A mandatory practice is scheduled for August 2 and 3. Mandatory practices for the purpose of team drafting and age grouping times and locations will be announced at a later date.
Local soccer expert Ray Santos is returning this year to coordinate the league for the Lincoln City Rec Department. Santos grew up playing soccer and competed at the high school and college level. Santos has also officiated at the high school and college level in Hawaii, California and Oregon, and he coached the Taft High soccer team for a decade.
The fee for the youth soccer league is $35 for Lincoln City residents and $40 for non-residents. There is a $5 discount for each additional child per family. The registration deadline is Saturday, July 28.
Referees are needed for this league. Youth age 15 and older with knowledge and experience may inquire. Youth referee wages are $8-10 per hour depending on experience.
