Coast Guard rights distressed sailboater while enroute to report of another overturned recreational boat!
The Coast Guard launched a motor lifeboat Sunday afternoon on a report of a capsized 14 foot pleasure boat. While enroute, the Coast Guard crew encountered another capsized boat, with the operator, in the water, clinging to the keel. The Coast Guard quickly righted the craft and resumed it’s monitoring of the overturned pleasure craft. It had been earlier determined that there appeared to be no one aboard it. The craft was headed for a distant eastward shore where it was likely retrieved by authorities.
