Gomberg focuses on health care in town hall event.
Coastal candidate and community leaders discuss key issues for Oregon
Provided by David Gomberg
NEWPORT- Individuals, families and small business with concerns about health care and insurance will have a special opportunity learn more, share opinions, and ask questions during a telephone town hall meeting on Monday, July 2. The meeting will be facilitated by David Gomberg, candidate for the Oregon House of Representatives.
Between this weeks Supreme Court ruling on the Affordable Health Act, and last years approval here in Oregon of Health Care Transformation and the Health Insurance Exchange, people have lots of questions. said Gomberg. This is a great time to sit down together and talk about the options and where we would like to go.
A telephone town hall allows listeners to submit questions, join the conversation, or take part in group polling questions. This is a big district and we can’t just ask people from Waldport to go to Tillamook, or Newport to go to Sheridan. But during our last town hall on jobs and economic development, more than 1000 callers joined us.
Gomberg has completed group meetings on jobs, education, and health care this summer. Putting Oregonians back to work, reinvesting in our schools, and ensuring access to quality health care are the central issues driving me to serve our community. he said. The discussion of health care is critical. As a small business owner who provides insurance for my employees, I understand how the challenges of affordable healthcare impact our families and the economy, and I believe I can bring an important perspective to Salem.
David Gomberg and his wife Susan own Gomberg Kite Productions and the Northwest Winds Kite Stores. In 2012, their company was named Business of the Year in Lincoln City.
Joining David Gomberg will be Cheryl Connel, Lincoln County Health and Human Services Department director, and Bill Hall, Lincoln County Commissioner. Participants can call the dial-in number (877) 229-8493, and use access code 13603, to talk with Gomberg, Hall, and Connel. The program begins at 6:30 pm, Monday, July 2nd.
