Beginning July 2nd
Monday 10:30 to 11:30, Newport Senior Center
The Newport Senior Center will host an open community forum with guest speaker Lisa Newton, a speech/language pathologist with many years experience working with memory skills groups. As the population of the United States ages, more and more individuals are experiencing concerns about declining memory, mental sharpness and general cognitive function. The talk will focus on the importance of stimulating an active mind and maintaining mental agility.
In the following four weeks, the Senior Center will offer classes for up to six people over sixty years old that will be an enjoyable fun filled hour of mental games and exercises for the brain. It will include computer card games, riddles, word puzzles, and a day exercising with our Wii system. Tony from Experience Works will be guiding, exercising and learning along with the participants.
Brain Teasers is FREE to all participants. For more information, contact Tony at the Newport Senior Center (541) 265-9617.
