Samaritan hospitals grapple with changes in medical care strategies and lower revenue due to recession
Newport’s parent hospital organization Samaritan Health is embarking on a multiple strategy to cut costs while redirecting resources more toward preventative health care. In the following article in the Lund Report, top Samaritan officials say the recession has, in some ways, accelerated their refocusing on new ways to provide health care throughout the communities they serve by adopting Oregon’s emerging Coordinated Care Organization approach.
