Pull Behind the Pool
From Lisa Mulcahy, Yaquina Basin Planning Team
Come eradicate ivy behind Newport Pool in what some call Newport’s “Forest Park” on Saturday, June 16th from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. or for as long as you want. English ivy is a pesky invasive species that spreads easily and kills trees. Join the Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District’s Aaron Duzik (demonstrator) and event sponsors: the members of The Oregon Coast Community Forest Association (OCCFA) for an ivy-pull behind the Newport pool.
This event is co-sponsored by the MidCoast Watersheds Council, SOLV, Thompson’s Sanitary Service, and the Lincoln County Solid Waste District. Work gloves, disposal bags and refreshments are being provided as well as a limited amount of tools (so bring some hand pruners or loppers if you have them). For more information contact Lisa Mulcahy at email@example.com or just show up!
