Suspicions rise that recent high gas prices were due to market manipulation – not a real shortage of gas
As many Oregon and Washington residents watched the national news showing gas prices falling to $3.50 a gallon and low, while our own local gas prices have stayed well above four dollars, they began to wonder if we all were getting gouged. That thought occurred to some of our members of Congress and what they found out was that the so-called shortage may have been due to deliberate market manipulation – not a gas shortage. Those members of Congress have now called for a federal investigation into what could amount to a theft from the public of up to $48 million a day.
