A Party To Remember
In collaboration with the release of Matt Love’s new book, Sometimes a Great Movie: Paul Newman, Ken Kesey and the Filming of the Great Oregon Novel, Mo’s will host a special storytelling event and book signing. Join us for “A Party To Remember,” Tuesday June 12, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Mo’s Annex On Newport’s Historic Bayfront. Matt Love will be on hand to sign books and record stories for a possible expanded second edition. He’ll showcase some of his movie memorabilia and hold a trivia contest with special prizes for the winners. Paul Newman’s favorite Mo’s dish and beverage will be provided.
The Celts Return To The Oregon Coast!
The 2nd Annual Newport Celtic Festival & Highland Games is coming up on June 8, 9 & 10. Join us for the festivities beginning with our “Friday Fringe” events happening all over town starting with a Sand Castle Contest & Kilted Run on Nye Beach, a Whiskey Tasting Seminar at Stone Crest Cellars B&B, an Irish Ceili Dance at Newport Rec Center, and sunset bonfire at Nye Beach. Join us at Western Title & Escrow Co. on Friday, June 15th (4:00 – 7:00 p.m.) as we take a bite out of cancer during our 4th Annual Clams Against Cancer fundraiser. Several local restaurants have partnered with Western Title to provide their guests with samples of the best chowder around. Complimentary bread, crackers and beverages are provided along with the all-you-can-eat clam chowder selections. Silent auction items will be displayed, and 100% of the evening’s proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Tickets are $12/adults; $5/children. Savory Cafe & Pizzeria To Feed The Masses
Once again this year, Savory Cafe will feed the entire Newport High and Newport Intermediate School’s students and staff on June 6th. In celebration of the Senior’s last day of School and the hard work the students and teachers have put forth this year, Savory, along with many other community partners including Pepsi and the News Times, will be serving up food to well over 1,000 people. Mark your calendars! Flashbacks Fountain and Grill, now in a new Newport location, will host Dine Out for Samaritan House Wednesday, June 6th. The completely remodeled interior transports you back to the 50’s and 60’s while enjoying lunch or dinner from a jam-packed menu. Flashbacks will donate 10% of the days proceeds to Samaritan House Homeless family Shelter.
