A call for trimming the ranks of mid-level managers in state government is being heeded in Salem as a number of them will be given their walking papers this friday. Reports say, most of them have already been notified. Their salaries will be tossed back into the state budget to help make up for a $28 million hole created by the lingering worst economic crash in over 80 years.
