Everyone who cares about homeless kids and wants to do something to help them do well in school, despite their very difficult circumstances, is invited to a Spaghetti Fundraiser and Cookie Bake Sale from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, June 8, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 1226 S.W. 13th St. in Lincoln City.
All funds raised go directly to students through Lincoln County School District’s Homeless Education & Literacy (H.E.L.P.) Program, which supports homeless students in our schools. This year in Lincoln City, 109 students in kindergarten through 12th grade have been identified as being homelessness.
Lincoln County Schools are trying to keep kids in school and to keep their lives on track. H.E.L.P. offers school supplies, hygiene supplies, clothing, meals, transportation, computer access, early childhood assistance, tutoring and homework help, afterschool enrichment, and offers goals to help move homeless families forward.
So please come out, bring your family and friends to enjoy this delicious dinner and make a difference for homeless youth in our community. Dinner is $6 for adults, $3 for kids. Cookies are $1 for half a dozen. The fund-raiser is sponsored by Thrivent, which will provide matching funds.
