Free workshop on becoming a licensed child care provider to be held at OSU Extension Service
Research shows the first years of life are critical to the overall healthy development of children. Child care providers play a fundamental role by helping our youngest citizens get off to a good start. Moreover, because our workforce includes so many working parents, child care is essential for them to be able to go to work and keep their jobs. Providing quality child care is a vital service for parents and employers and an important part of improving the economic development of our county.
On Tuesday, May 22, from 1-4pm, Family Care Connection, the Child Care Resource & Referral in Lincoln County, will hold a class for individuals interested in becoming Registered Family Child Care providers. The class will be held at OSU Extension Service, 29 SE 2nd Street in Newport.
The informational session will cover the rules and regulations for state registration, the business aspects of child care, information on quality child care, the services of Family Care Connection and other agencies that work to support child care providers. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions you might have about providing child care.
Registration is required to attend. To register for this class, or for more information, please call Family Care Connection at 541-265-2558.
