Gleneden Beach Thriftway back open. It wasn’t a bomb.
Two Oregon State Police bomb technicians arrived at the Thriftway in Gleneden Beach, x-rayed a package that had been left on a newspaper box and determined there was nothing inside that could blow up.
The call came in at 5:11pm to Lincom that a suspicious package had been left on a newspaper box outside the store and that no one had come back to claim it. A nervous store manager called 9-1-1 and a sheriff’s deputy came out and decided it was a case for the Oregon State Police bomb squad.
The tech came over from the valley, x-rayed it, and determined it not to be a threat. All the crime tape was taken down and the store resumed normal business activity.
