Last chance to see AND participate!:
Tonight, Thursday, April 26th, you are invited to attend a mock trial concerning an alleged sexual assault at a teen party where alcohol was being consumed. The trial will be held in Newport at the Old Yaquina View School from 6-8pm. The case represents a lot of real-life scenarios facing today’s teens and is an opportunity to educate yourself and your loved ones about these hot-button issues. It is also a chance for you to voice your opinion, as the audience will be playing the role of the jury.
The trial is sponsored by Partnership Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (PAADA) with the help of My Sisters’ Place and coordinated by Kiera Morgan, News Director of Yaquina Bay Communications. It is open to the public with a suggested $5 donation to benefit My Sisters’ Place and free admittance for students.
Light refreshments will be provided, along with information booths where safety materials can be found. While this performance is not recommended for anyone under the age of 13 due to the portrayal of sexual issues, it is a perfect occasion for parents of future teens to arm themselves with knowledge. So please join us for the evening, we hope to see you there!
