NOAA has issued a high surf advisory for the coast from southwest Washington down into Oregon through 9am Wednesday. A series of recent Pacific storms, including the one last night, has produced waves that will range upwards to thirty feet, making surf zones and shore break very dangerous. Everyone is urged to keep your distance and to never turn your back on the ocean. Sneaker waves come up out of nowhere and rise much higher than what appears to be average wave height. And of course, stay off of protruding rocks and local jettys.
