It’s snowing like we’re in the mountains, out there. DO NOT DRIVE. Foulweather is impassible unless you have 4-wheel drive.
The snow is coming down in huge quantities and it’s a wet snow which makes it pile up faster. Cape Foulweather between Newport and Depoe Bay is impassible. Even if you have 4 wheel drive, it’s very hard because there are many cars near the summit that have spun out or cannot move forward and are chaotically blocking most of the asphalt surface area (if you can find any).
HIghway 20 going up the hill from Newport is closed. Police say there is one car that has spun out and is hanging over a ravine in danger of going over the side. There are many, very heavily snow-laded trees that are falling onto the pavement. Again, unless it’s to the store, stay indoors and stay out of the snow. It’s very hazardous out there.
