Besides the Lincoln County Commission Position Two race, with incumbent Democrat Bill Hall seeking a third term, and Democrat Ken Lundie and Republican Tom Runions trying to stop that from happening, there isn’t much excitement on the May 15th ballot. Incumbent District Attorney Rob Bovett failed to draw an opponent by the end of filing yesterday. Sheriff Dennis Dotson drew only one opponent, Deputy Steven Frey of Newport. Incumbent County Treasurer Linda Pilson will run unopposed. Both Lincoln County Circuit Court Judges Branford and Sanders will run unopposed.
For State Representative District 10, Lincoln County north of Yachats, it’s Republican Dan Cutter of Newport and Democrat David Gomberg, a Democrat from Neotsu. For State Representative District 9, Lincoln County south of Yachats, it’s Democrat Caddy Mckeown of Coos Bay versus Republican Nancy Brouhard of North Bend. For 5th District State Senate Democrat Arnie Roblan of Coos Bay seeks to walk across the hall from the House to get a Senate seat, versus Republican Scott Roberts of North Bend.
For U.S. House of Representatives District 5, incumbent Democrat Kurt Schrader of Oregon City will be challenged by two Republicans, Fred Thompson and Karen Bowerman.
