Head-on crash on 101, just north of Tillamook
Oregon State Police say a drunk driver in a Buick, without its headlights on, crossed over the center line on the Kilchis River Bridge north of Tillamook last night, and hit an oncoming Honda van injuring a mother and her three children.
Although the collision was horrific, driver of the van, Hannah Thomas and her children were not killed. All four were initially transported to Tillamook County General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Later Thomas and two of her children, ages 8 and 6, were transferred to Portland hospitals for further medical evaluation and treatment.
Meanwhile, Buick driver Jake Adams, 26, of Bay City, was also transported to Tillamook General where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries and was cited for Drunk Driving, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangerment and Assault.
