The 35th annual Newport Seafood and Wine Festival kicked off Thursday to a big crowd who bought advance tickets for a gourmet feasting on ocean fresh seafood and sipping award winning wines. It’s all going on at South Beach, in the big tents just east of the Rogue Brewery.
Newport’s 35th Annual Seafood & Wine Festival takes place on the picturesque Oregon Coast, which runs February 23rd through February 26th. The event is headquartered near the Rogue Ales Brewery at the South Beach Marina in Newport. Artists and Craftsmen will show-case a variety of fine art, sculpture, photography, pottery, and jewelry. Pacific Northwest Wineries will be pouring the finest of wines and culinary professionals will serve seagoing cuisine of delectable delights. No one ever leaves disappointed or hungry!
The theme for this year’s Seafood and Wine is “Swingin’ on the vine, for the 35th time! Hours Friday are 2-9pm, with a $12 admission. Ticket prices do not include wine tasting. Food item prices range from $1 and up. Wine sampling starts at $1 and glasses of wine are available for menu price. Bottles and cases of wine are sold by wineries, too!
Be sure to stop by the Newport Firefighters booth. They are serving Seafood Gumbo ‘on fire.’ All proceeds from the firefighters booth go toward firefighter training, fire house and fire truck equipment and accessories for EMS equipment. So stop by, have some gumbo and invest a few bucks in the people who some day may invest in saving your house!!

Saturday 10-6pm, $17 admission
Sunday 10-4pm, $7 admission
