Sponsorship Key to Festival’s Success
Organizing an event, the scope and size of the Newport Seafood & Wine Festival requires day to day planning, organization of duties and assignments, and a Committee who visualizes the big picture. The Seafood & Wine Festival’s Committee, along with countless volunteers, joins together each year, to “make it happen.” However, vision alone cannot see a project through, start to finish. Without the financial support from a myriad of sponsors, Newport’s largest annual Festival would only be a dream. Individuals and businesses alike, assume the Sponsorship mantle, and make it a reality.
During the summer of 2011, local sponsors began their annual sign-up, and by late fall, CHINOOK WINDS CASINO RESORT signed on as the 2012 Newport Seafood & Wine Festival’s Presenting Sponsor. A few weeks later, in an unprecedented move, they took on the E-Ticket Sponsorship as well.
As we near the Seafood & Wine Festival, UMPQUA BANK, and OSU FEDERAL CREDIT UNION, respectively will underwrite the Sponsor Reception and Wine Glass Booth sponsorships. Behind the scenes partners such as the CITY OF NEWPORT, E2 ELECTRIC, OCEAN TIRE & AUTO SERVICE, ROGUE ALES and the NEWPORT NEWS TIMES consistently collaborate with the Newport Chamber of Commerce, providing crucial support each year.
The Newport Seafood & Wine Festival has a wide range of sponsor levels, all of which are vitally important to the operation of this Chamber event. Each sponsor level fills a specific niche, crucial for the commission of managing a Festival. Sponsorships, both monetary and in-kind make up the whole. With over 80 sponsors backing the Festival this year, it is no wonder our community has been so successful in marketing this venue. Newport can justifiably be proud of its Festival and the partners who work each year to make this event a triumph.
