Helping Toledo families who were burned out of house and home February 7th – Many are jumping in, including the Toledo Elks Lodge. Toledo Food Pantry now needs help replenishing its shelves!
Following a horrific apartment fire in Toledo on Feb 7th, there are 9 Families (21 people including 5 children ages 4 mo – 12 yrs) escaped with only their night clothes
The Toledo business community has offered places to store items like furniture and household goods until the families find a permanent place to live. They have temporary housing until the Seafood and Wine Festival weekend. If anyone knows of some right priced apartments or homes for rent, please call Mary Young at 541-961-3309 or 541-528-3474.
There are places around town where donation cans are set up and a fund has been established at Bank of the West in Toledo.
Household items are needed including silverware, towels, wash cloths, linens, sheets, pots. pans, dishes and furniture. Again, call Mary Young at 541-961-3309 daytime or 541-528 3474 after business hours concerning donate items.
The Toledo Elks Lodge is holding a spaghetti feed fundraiser for the families Thursday evening, 6pm, at their lodge at 123 SE Alder Street, Toledo. The price is $6.00 a plate or $20 for a family of four. There will also be a silent auction. Your participation would be greatly appreciated.
With the Toledo Food Pantry’s outpouring of food for the displaced families, the pantry now needs donations to restock their shelves so that other needy families don’t go hungry. Donations of food and/or money can be given at the Toledo Food Pantry at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 383 NE Beech (Beech at 3rd), a block directly west of the JC Thriftway.
