Newport Food Pantry: Serving nearly 20% of the town – with help from Newport Volunteer Firefighters
Newport Firefighters Fight Hunger!
Over 500 pounds of food and nearly $160 in cash were donated last Saturday when Newport Volunteer Firefighters held their Hose Down Hunger event at the Safeway parking lot in Newport. It was the second of the Hose Downs with the inaugural happening last fall. To date these fund and food raising events for the Newport Food Pantry have produced over 1,500 pounds of food and $1,200 in cash.

Newport Food Pantry is the city’s emergency food pantry serving nearly 20% of Newport’s population with a once a month emergency food supply. The Pantry is located on the property of First Presbyterian Church on N.E. 12th Street.
