Information provided by Children’s Advocacy Center, Newport
Here is an opportunity to enjoy fresh locally caught seafood throughout the year. Pacific Shrimp Co. and Fish Peddler’s market have donated a basket featuring six months of fresh, locally caught seafood for the major fundraising event for the Children’s Advocacy Center “Celebrate the Children” event being held Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Best Western Agate Beach Hotel. This incredible basket includes five pounds of crab meat and certificates for seafood by the month. In March there is ten pounds of petrale sole, in May ten pounds of pink shrimp, in July ten pounds of rockfish, in September ten pounds of albacore tuna loins and in December four whole, cooked crab. The live auction and silent auction portion of the evening helps fund the Children’s Advocacy Center, where every year hundreds of Lincoln County’s child victims of abuse are provided help, hope and healing. All monies raised will provide assessment, intervention, advocacy and counseling services for the children and families.
The buffet dinner includes sushi from Sadas, baron of beef, salmon, a vegetarian offering and all the side dishes. A dessert table provides a great selection of decadent desserts donated by Mo’s that provides the energy to dance the night away with The Swingline Cubs band.
