We’ve gone from high winds to now high water. The Siletz River and other rivers and creeks along the Central Coast are filling with the runoff from a big rainfall over the past week. Here Michelle McKibben shows us that the Siletz is running very high…so high that it’s closed the Siletz Highway ten miles north of Siletz at its “usual place.”
Highway 20 is flooding just west of Eddyville in two spots. Use caution.
HIghway 34, Alsea Highway, is closed 13 miles east of Tidewater – landslide. Also closed five miles east of Alsea due to landslide.
The Siuslaw River is rising fast and furious just east of Florence. Highway 126 was just closed at Cushman, three miles east of Florence so that main highway between Eugene and the Coast is now closed.
Vicki Gunner who lives on the Nashville Road in Eddyville at the 2.5 mile marker reports to us that the river is over the road in two places. No cars in, no cars out. She lamented, “We went from snowed in, to flooded in.”
OR 38: Closed. Mile post 11 to 15.5, 11 miles east of the intersection with Highway 101. High water.
