Newport Police News Release
Sunday, at 12:20pm, Newport Police Officers were dispatched to the Eastside Trailer Park at 636 NE 2nd Street on a report that a fight had just occurred. Upon arrival, Officers found Narciso Cordero-Sanchez, age 20 of Newport, at the intersection of NE Fogarty Street and NE 1st Street. He was suffering from an injury to his neck. Medical was dispatched while officers provided first aid.
At this point in the investigation it had been learned that Cordero-Sanchez came to a residence in the trailer park where he met Wilzon Lima-Yuman, age 22 of Newport. The two men engaged in a fist fight. Cordero-Sanchez left the location and was discovered at the intersection of NE Fogarty and NE 1st Streets. Cordero-Sanchez was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital with a puncture wound to his neck. He was later transported by ground ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis.
No arrests have been made at this point, but the investigation is continuing. Newport Police Officers were assisted by deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
