What could be more fun that spending part of your holiday vacation time hanging around the docks in Toledo, building a boat for your family. It may sound a little out of place, but not for these folks who devoted five days assembling unusual looking craft that the entire family had a hand in constructing. And it was made possible by generous donations from local individuals, businesses and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians. The Port of Toledo had more than a small hand in the production as well. It’s all designed, said port manager Bud Shoemake, to keep Toledo’s boating heritage alive and vibrant, and have it passed onto our next generation.
