The Portland Trailblazer games will soon be viewable throughout rural Oregon wherever Comcast SportsNet doesn’t reach. And that includes Newport and Lincoln City which doesn’t get that service.
In a complicated deal with the Trailblazers, those who want to watch the games live ON THEIR COMPUTER SCREEN can do so free from New Year’s Day through January 11th. After that, they pay.

Our Brad Taylor says he’s gotten a report that the expansion of coverage for the Trailblazers applies to not only a computer tie-in at Trailblazers.com, but also to satellite TV as well. Taylor says Direct TV a will be running Trailblazer games free of charge for viewers through January 8th as sort of a teaser marketing move for their NBA League Pass TV program. After January 8th, Direct TV will charge $169 for viewing the rest of the current season.
By the way, the Direct TV channels are 750-768.
Charter Cable does not carry NBA League Pass programming in the Newport/Lincoln City area.
