Newport Police say that Corbin Edwards, 23, was found lying unconscious on the ground, bleeding from wounds to his face and head. Edwards was immediately transported to PCH and then rushed to a hospital trauma unit in Portland. His condition was not immediately known.
Police arrested four people in connection with Edwards’ beating. Jacob Jack, 21 of Waldport, for Assault and Disorderly Conduct. He’s being held at the Lincoln County Jail on bail of $260,000. Also Kahla McKee, 21, Dustin Nelson, 24, and Aaron Burright, 25, all of Newport. They were charged with a single count of Disorderly Conduct.
Update: Burright contends he was not trying to hurt Edwards but rather was defending him against the others. They said the case’s information has not yet entered into the department’s data base and that they would be better equipped the answer the question next week.
