Oregon State Police report that driving along Oregon’s Coastal roads and mountain highways is still trecherous due to continued off and on high winds and very soggy soils. Many trees are giving way and falling onto roadways. Another such event happened today on Highway 20 and Milepost 18, about ten miles east of toledo. A tree gave way and hit a car. The road was blocked for a time until an ODOT chain saws could free the car. No reported injuries.
Be very careful especially during windier conditions. Keep an eye not only on the road, but on tree movements on the shoulders. Report any and all downed or leaning trees that you spot to 9-1-1.
