Occupy Newport demonstrators were out in the wind today in Newport, urging motorists to move their money from large banks to smaller ones, the larger ones blamed for their contribution to the Wall Street crash from the derivatives markets in which many banks and investment houses speculated. Others were calling attention to the IRS and Congressional Budget Office data that show that 400 American families have more wealth than the bottom half of the country.
After their demonstration concludes at 1pm, they will hold what’s called a General Assembly at Don Davis Park to plan further demonstrations as well as further organize their various subcommittees as outlined in the story below.
