Oregon Congressman: Cut wasteful subsidies to corporate farms, help farming families
A bill in Congress that would reduce farm subsidies to large agricultural corporations in an era of their soaring income would be partially redirected to family to medium sized farms that really need them. Congressman Earl Blumenauer says such changes are way overdue but adds that the Congress may finally be in a position to do just that because shifting farm assistance toward smaller farms would help lower the nation’s deficit.
