Some Roads Enders so hate the thought of annexing into Lincoln City they’re willing to drill their own wells. But is the water there? Will it pencil out?
A group of angry Roads End neighbors, who want no part of annexing into Lincoln City, are scrambling to try to get permission to drill six wells to fill their washing machines, kitchen sinks, bathtubs and green up their lawns, this according to a story in the Lincoln City News Guard. The newspaper chronicles the enormous effort required to get permission to drill wells, acquire permits to provide water, guarantee its safety to drink, prove that underground salt water intrusion won’t become a problem to regional property owners or whether Lincoln City would allow them to use existing city water mains to deliver the water to everyones’ homes. The long, winding and potentially very expensive road is chronicled in the News-Guard. Click here.
