Oregon’s cool climate, quality of life and relatively cheap electricity is attracting large computer data centers that process everything from e-commerce to complicated cell phone commands. They’re also coming to Oregon to enjoy substantial tax breaks from a state hungry for new jobs. But such data centers don’t employ a lot of people for the tax breaks they receive, critics adding that Oregon’s business incentive program needs a bit of tightening up.
