Newly elected Third Ward City Councilor, and Taft area businessman Alex Ward was sworn into office Monday night during the city council’s regular twice a month meeting. After he was sworn in, he took his seat at the far left end of the council dais, moving councilor Gary Ellingson one seat toward the center. The council took a quick break to cut a quite delicious chocolate cake brought in for the occasion, and many congratulated Ward for his successful election and ascension to the council.
Ward is a Taft area businessman who owns a firm that performs background checks on prospective employees for businesses and various agencies in the Lincoln City area. Ward’s presence on the council is likely to add support for revamping some of the regulations on Vacation Rental Dwellings in the city.
