Tsunami Scare Subsides in Aleutian Islands. 6.8 Richter/3:56am

An early morning 6.8 richter earthquake rattled a stretch of Aleutian Islands southwest of Anchorage Alaska at around 4am this morning Pacific Daylight Time. A Tsunami warning was issued and many residents of Amukta Pass headed for the hills. But the Tsunami wave was very small. NOAA said there was no Tsunami threat anywhere except from 80 miles east of Dutch Harbor to 125 miles west of Adak Island.
