Hello Book Lovers!

Bob’s Beach Books,

Provided by Bob’s Beach Books

We’re less than 2 weeks away from the free (yes, FREE!) 2011 Northwest Author Fair on Saturday, August 27th. This year’s fair will begin with authors speaking at The Bijou Theatre beginning at 10am (yes, their fabulous popcorn will be available), followed by the signing event at Bob’s Beach Books from noon to 3pm. Bob’s Beach Books is just a short block away from The Bijou Theatre so you can easily go from the panels to the signings. For a complete list of authors and artists attending, check our website (Click Here) and feel free to call us at (541) 994-4467 with questions. You can also get the most recent information by “liking” our Facebook page (Click Here). Read on for more details about one of the largest literary events in the Northwest!

Speakers at the Bijou Theatre (1624 NE Hwy 101, Lincoln City, OR)
10-10:45am:
NYT bestselling young adult fantasy author Colleen Houck (“Tiger’s Curse”, “Tiger’s Quest”, “Tiger’s Voyage”) will speak about the writing process, including character development and more, with Q&A to follow. It should prove instructive to aspiring writers—she started out as a self-published author and is now a NYT bestseller!

11-11:45am:
Accomplished authors Kristine Kathryn Rusch and Dean Wesley Smith will speak on the state of publishing today. Each have had dozens of their own novels published, and are award-winning publishers themselves. They will be joined by multi-genre authors J. Steve York and Christina York (who also writes under Christy Evans). This is going to be a fun, informative panel; I cannot stress what an incredible opportunity this is for people!

Authors at Bob’s Beach Books (1747 NW Hwy 101, Lincoln City, OR)
Noon-3:00pm:
More than 60 authors, including local favorites, best-selling authors, major award-winning authors, and artists will sign from noon until 3pm. There will be something for everyone: authors of mysteries, true survival, sci-fi, romance, YA fantasy, kid’s books, NW history, and much, much more (full list available at http://bobsbeachbooks.net/events/). The authors will be in the plaza right next to Bob’s, ready to speak with the public and sign and sell their books. They are all ready and willing to talk about their books, writing, and more. We invite everyone to come join in the festivities–it’s a unique opportunity for all of us here at the beach!

World-renowned fine artist and illustrator David Delamare will be signing prints and cards at the fair along with Wendy, one of his models and his co-author. David rarely makes public appearances so we are especially grateful he’s willing to join us again this year. He is most widely known for his mermaid and fairy fantasy paintings (many of the originals are available for viewing inside the bookstore!). Prints from many of his paintings—including some work for his new “Alice in Wonderland” book—will be available for purchase.

If you can’t make it to the event but would like something signed please give us a call, we’re happy to ship.

Please feel free to call or stop by with questions, we hope to see you there!
