Trooper Matt Fromme was checking anglers along the Willamette River this week, making sure they all had fishing licenses. But when he contacted KIMBERLY LYNN STAATS, age 40, from southeast Portland, he knew he had something on the end of his line. When he entered her name in his mobile computer it lit up like a Christmas tree. The data showed she was wanted out multiple warrants for:
* Fugitive from Justice out of Clark County, Washington where she was wanted on a felony Forgery warrant.
* Felony warrant for Identity Theft (5 counts) and Forgery in the Second Degree (5 counts) out of Multnomah County
* Misdemeanor warrant for Fail to Appear on Assault, Harassment and Attempt to Coercion charges out of Washington County
STAATS was arrested without incident and lodged in the Multnomah County Justice Center.
