“Yachats River Valley Farm Tour Rides again!!!”

Yachats River Valley Farm Tour Celebrates its Twelfth Year!

The annual tour of the farms and ranches along the Yachats River Road will take place this year on Saturday, August 13, from 10 AM to 3 PM, featuring locally grown fruits, vegetables, grass-fed beef, baked goods, jams, refreshments, and, as an added bonus, live music.

Five farms will make up the roster this year, each featuring a different attraction, most with local produce for sale. The first one, Seeds of Oregon, 1603 Yachats River Road, will offer vegetables, and plants, for sale. Next is Forks Farm, 8 North Fork River Road, offering organic fruits, blueberries, cut flowers, jams, produce and handmade aprons. They are florists and accept orders for floral arrangements suitable for weddings and other celebrations.

Turn right at the intersection and follow the South Fork of the Yachats River to Wind River Farm, 8402 Soth Fork River Road. offering fruit and home-grown produce for sale. Be sure to check out the display of award-winning, locally made pottery.

A must-see stop is the next one in line: Yaquina Nursery, 9724 South Fork River Road. This world-famous nursery features cacti and succulents from literally all over the planet. Most of the stock is for sale and is the place to buy a special cactus or succulent for your home or garden.

Last up is The Ranch, 10740 Soth Fork River Road. Nancy Kromer’s Ranch rests in a serene meadow setting with barn, pond, river, shade trees, and picnic tables, for visitors to enjoy. A wide variety of livestock – including, cows, chickens and geese – wander through the pastures. Free hot coffee will be available to enjoy with home-baked goods, honey and jams for sale.

One unique feature here at The Ranch will be live music provided by the accordionists Jim and Shirley O’Brien, the Oregon Coast Recorder Society, and the African Drum Circle. The music will start at 10 AM.
