Time marches on along with the rest of it…

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is pleased to announce that a request for grant proposals will open June 15th to assist low and moderate income Oregonians with upgrading and repairing their failing septic systems.

The Oregon Legislature allocated $15 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to DEQ to distribute as pass-through grants to public agencies and other qualified institutions. These funds will be used to help homeowners and small businesses including rural areas and communities impacted by the 2020 wildfires.

The request for grant proposals will be open from June 15, 2022, to Aug. 5, 2022, for eligible organizations seeking funding to administer these financial aid programs. This round of funding will focus exclusively on financial aid to address properties impacted by the 2020 wildfires. More information on this financial aid program can be found on the DEQ website. Application forms and associated documents will be available for download on this web page when the request for grant proposals opens.

DEQ also will offer an information session about this funding opportunity on July 6th.

If you have questions about this funding opportunity after reviewing the information on our website, please email onsiteseptic.info@deq.oregon.gov.
