Governor Kate Brown to Address 2022 Wildfire Season
(Salem, OR) — Governor Kate Brown will hold a press availability Monday, May 16, at 11 a.m., to give an overview of the upcoming wildfire season. The briefing will also serve as an opportunity for reporters who will be covering wildfires to understand Oregon’s coordinated fire suppression system from the state and local perspective.
The Governor will be joined by representatives from the Oregon Department of Forestry, Office of the State Fire Marshal, Oregon Military Department, Office of Emergency Management, and Department of Environmental Quality.
Members of the media must RSVP by 9 a.m., May 16, by emailing the Governor’s press office at Governors.Press@oregon.gov. The Governor’s Office is using a Zoom-based platform for the press conference, and log-in information will be provided to reporters who RSVP. Members of the media are asked to log in a few minutes early.
