Free day at the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center!!!!

In Conjunction with Newport Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Loyalty Day Celebration on Saturday May 7, the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center (PMHC) is hosting a free admission day for the public with some very fun public program opportunities.
From 10 am – 3 PM  we are a host site for the 3rd Annual History Slam event that Celebrates Local History Along the Pacific Coast. The event is sponsored by the Monterey Public Library and Museums, Western Flyer Foundation and the Cannery Row Company.  The public is invited to come into the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center’s Doefler Family Theater and view the 17 short presentations that will be broadcast that day. The presentations include Newport’s own Master Chief USCG Retired, Tom McAdams (at 2:30 in the line up of presentations).
At 3:30 PM the 2022 Loyalty Day Princesses will present their speeches inside the PMHC’s Doerfler Family Theater.
In Conjunction with the Blessing of the Fleet which starts at 2 PM at Dock 5 on Newport’s Bayfront right across the street from the PMHC. From 4-6 PM the Fisherman’s Wives will be serving their annual free BBQ from the PMHC. Food is available to go or eat onsite inside the PMHC. 
At 7 PM there is a Candlelight Memorial at the Fisherman’s Memorial at the Yaquina Bay State Park.
The Pacific Maritime Heritage Center is one of five historic buildings governed by the Lincoln County Historical Society. The PMHC is located at 333 SE Bay Blvd, Newport, Oregon.
